AUGUST 1,2009 Smoke Signals 15 Grand Rondo Kindergarten to 5th Grade 2009-10 afterschool program Applications for incoming K-5th students can be picked up at the Youth Education Building beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17. Applications must be turned in to Toni Mercier at Youth Education by 5 p.m.' Thursday, Aug. 20. Eligibility requirements state that parent(s)guardian(s) must be in school, working or in a training program for a student to participate. Space is limited and the program is open to Tribal, descendent and Na tive American students in Willamina Elementary School, with a preference given to enrolled CTGR youth. School Clothes Program Social Service's 2009 School Clothes Program is gearing up for the upcoming school year. The program is first-come, first-served and children must be enrolled Tribal members. Children also must be of school age and enrolled in school (preschool, elementary, middle or high school). Income criteria apply to those seeking aid. Workshop classes in Grand Ronde Aug. 11 Excel II Sept 8 Excel III The workshops will be taught by Northwest Computer Learning Center and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the computer lab in the Education Building. Cost for a workshop is $150 and eligible Tribal members can apply to the Noncredit Program (formally Short Term Training) for assistance with registration costs. American Indian Services scholarships Full-time or part-time undergraduate students enrolled in a college, uni versity, junior college or technical school can apply to the American Indian Services Scholarship. Must be enrolled at least 14 Native American blood. Applicant must have no more than 150 semester credits, or 210 quarter credits and have a minimum cumulative CPA of 2.25.
