Registration closed June 15. We have 16 registered readers between the ages of 4 - 1 1. Reading Incentive began at the time of registration and ends on August 10. Participants will earn prize incentives for each 15 minutes of reading and will be eligible to enter their name for a drawing for each book read at their level of reading. Summer Program: Get A Clue! Begins July 2 and ends August 10. Regional Libraries will be participating in a regional summer program theme "Get a Clue." The Tribal Library will participate with this theme along with the other Oregon Librar ies. Story and activity sessions are scheduled as follows: D Kindergarten - 3rd grade sessions: Thursdays: 2- 3 p.m. D 4th & 5th grade sessions: Thursdays: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. July 5 Detect It! Super Sleuthing Dazzling Disguises & Clever Costumes July 12 Detect It! Super Sleuthing Fingerprints July 19 Solve It! Codes, Cipher's & Puzzles Unbreakable Codes July 26 Dig it Up! Mysteries from the Past Big Old Bones Aug. 2 Discover It! Science Mysteries Zoo In The Sky Aug. 9 Explain It! Real Lift Mysteries Purple is Best Bigfoot O 6 - 8th grade Sessions: Wednesdays: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. (July 11, 18, 25 and August 1 & 8) Story and activity sessions will focus on Investigative journ aling. Each week the participant will enter information about descriptions, clues and evidence as they try to solve a series of mysteries based on above themes. D 9 12 grade Sessions: Tuesdays: 5:30 - 7 p.m. (July 10, 17, 24, 31 and Aug. 7) Sessions will include a Mystery Movie, Readers Theater, Mag net Poem Contest, a Mystery Dinner, Super Sleuthing Scavenger Hunt, and a Family night event. The Tribal Library will host a Mystery Movie time during the noon hour on Monday and Tuesday at the Youth Education Center for youth in grades 6 12. Sessions will be held July 9 & 10; 16 & 17; 23 & 24; 30 & 31 and August 6 & 7. Book Club: Will not be held during the months of July & August. Poetry Recital Reading: Will not be held during the months of July & August. Continuing students are expected to file prior to February 15 of each year. A copy of the ' I Federal Financial Aid application must be submitted to the Tribal Education I I Program in order to determine program eligibility. I 2. All students are responsible for having their grade reports sent to the . tribal Education Program upon completion of each TermSemester. Either . ' make arrangements with the Registrar's office to have the reports sent ' I directly to the Tribal office or mail a copy of your grade report to the tribal I office yourself. I 3. All students must maintain a 2.00 GPA and successfully complete a mini- I mum of 12 credit hours per termsemester to remain eligible for funding. ! 4. Students are allowed one term of Probationary Status. Students who J I are placed on PROBATIONARY STATUS will not be awarded the following I term until they have provided the Tribal Education Program Specialist a I I copy of their grade reporttranscript. Transcripts must include the term of probation and must show successful completion of 1 2 credit hours and verify . that a 2.00 GPA has been earned. . 1 NO AWARD WILL BE MADE UNTIL TRANSCRIPTS 1 I HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED. I 5. It is the student's responsibility to remain in "good academic standing." I If a student demonstrates an on againoff again pattern of being placed on I I Probationary Status, they will be placed on probationary status for one com- plete academic year. Failure to meet minimum academic and or attendance J I requirements during the probationary termsemester will result in suspen- ' I sion from the program. I 6. Students, please notify the Education Department of address changes I and telephone number changes as soon as they occur. I I 7. If emergencies occur that affect your attendance notify the Education Program and the college IMMEDIATELY! (Tribal Education Specialist, J ' College Registrar's Office, College Financial Aid Office.) ' 8. Students who withdrew from school due to medical or health related rea- I sons must obtain a Statement of Verification from their physician or health I care provider identifying need to withdraw from school. Student must also obtain a Statement of Releases from their physician that identifies ability . to return to school. Copies of physician's statements must be submitted to ' the Education Program Specialist. I 9. All students must sign a "Release of Information" form regarding at- tendance, financial aid transcripts, education budgets, progress and grade I reports. 10. Students, be aware that if you quit school or withdraw early from school ! you will be required to reimburse the Education Department money you received to attend school. 1 1. Students entering their SENIOR year are required to have a Graduation I AuditEvaluation completed Fall TermSemester and provide a copy of the AuditEvaluation to the Tribal Education Program Specialist.
