Interest lists for the open market rental units are presently limited to enrolled members of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon. NEW Chxi Musam Illihi Low-Income Rentals Low-income families will also have 36 more rental units available from 1 to 5 bedroom size, upon the completion of this new phase of family hous ing development in late 2006. Rents for these units will be 30 percent of adjusted household income and income limits apply. Call the Housing Authority for an application that will place you on the waiting list. Tribal Housing To Offer Trainings & Financial Skills Grand Ronde I nbal Housing Authority is pleased to be able to offer Homebuyer Trainings and Financial Skills classes to Tribal members. Financial Skills Trainings consist of four 2-hour class sessions and will be held on the following schedule: Tuesdays: June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays: July 7, 14, 21, 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays: September 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays: October 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The above classes will be held at the Housing Authority. The Financial Skills trainings will be presented in the Port land Office on Fridays: May 5, 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a potluck lunch. Homebuyer Training consists of three three-hour class sessions and will be held on the following schedule: Thursdays: June 8, 15, 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays: July 11, 18, 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays: September 12, 19, 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. Apprenticeship Program Basic Fire Protection, Inc. is now accepting applications for entry into a 5-year apprenticeship program for Fire Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669. A qualified applicant must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and pass a physical medi cal exam and drug test. Interested person(s) may obtain an application at: 8135 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Portland, OR 97211. No phone calls please. The Tribal Council plans to allocate $800.00 to each member through the Member Benefit Program for the year 2006. All members 21 years of age on or before the date of distribution are eligible for withdrawing. For all members under the age of 21, the distribution will be deposited into the trust accounts. For those eligible, withdrawal requests received in our offices by June 16, 2006 will generate checks to be mailed on June 30, 2006. Withdrawal requests postmarked June 16, 2006, or later WILL NOT meet the deadline. They must be in our offices by June 16, 2006. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL CHECKS BE PICKED UP AT THE OFFICES. Checks will be mailed to the address on the withdrawal form. Once the request is received, the address for the check will not be able to be changed. The address on the withdrawal form will be the official ad dress for you, and, all other mail will also be mailed to that address. If you need the check to go to an address other than the one on the form, please go to the post office in your area and have your mail forwarded. You will be receiving a withdrawal form in the mail regarding this distri bution. Also, there is a withdraw form in the Smoke Signals that you may use. This will be the only payment date for the month of June. If you have a balance in your account, you may request that on this withdrawal form along with the 2006 allocation. If you choose not to make a withdrawal at this time, or miss the June 16 deadline, the next payment date will be July 15, 2006. In order to be mailed a check on July 15, 2006, you must have your application to us no later than July 3, 2006. Withdrawal forms may be faxed or mailed into the offices. Due to the overwhelming amount of calls regarding mail verification, you will need to mail a return receipt requested form available at your local post office. They can assist you with this service. For fax verification, faxing the form will be at your own risk. The total Member" Benefit Timber Distribution allocation for 2006 is $800.00 for each member. Please call the 1-800-759-4814 to receive information regarding the distribution or if you did not receive a withdrawal form, you may request one. This will be checked daily.
