By Ron Karten & Toby McClary Tribal community meetings in Canyonville (April 30) and Eugene (May 1) enabled Tribal members in the southern part of the state to focus on prioritizing Tribal ser vices and programs. One in Grand Ronde (May 7) was held in conjunc tion with the monthly first-Sunday Tribal Council meetings. And two more, one in Federal Way, Wash ington (May 21), and a final one in Portland (May 22), will provide the widest access ever to members in the region. "The focus was different this year due to the challenge posed by off Reservation and non-Indian gaming proposals," said Tribal Planning & Grants Development Manager Kim Rogers, who organized the meetings, "and the need for the Tribe to plan for these challenges."
