IT'S A POSTER CONTEST! It's time for the AMERIND Risk Management Corporation, 2006 Na tional Fire and Home Safety Poster Contest, for children currently in grades K through 8 (only one entry per child). All posters entered are to illustrate a fire safety theme and must be origi nals created by the child in crayon, markers or paint, drawn horizontally on 8.5" x 11" paper (no pencils please). This year's winner of the poster contest will receive a $2,000 savings bond in his or her name. Entry forms are available through the Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority office, at 28450 Tyee Road, Grand Ronde, or by calling Shawn Kennedy or Terri White at 503-879-2401 or 1-800-422-0232, extension 2401. All entries must be submitted to the Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Au thority office no later than Wednesday, April 25, 2006. NEW Chxi Musam Illihi Low-Income Rentals Low-income families will also have 36 more rental units available from 1 to 5 bedroom size, upon the completion of this new phase of family hous ing development in late 2006. Rents for these units will be 30 of adjusted household income, and income limits apply. Call the Housing Authority for an application that will place you on the waiting list. Tribal Housing To Offer Trainings & Financial Skills Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority is pleased to be able to offer Homebuyer Trainings and Financial Skills classes to Tribal members. Financial Skills Trainings consist of four 2 hour class sessions and will be held on the following schedule. Tuesdays; May 2, 9, 16, 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays; June 6, 13, 20, 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays; July 7, 14, 21, 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays; September 12, 19, 26, Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays; October 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The above classes will be held at the Housing Authority. The Financial Skills trainings will be presented in the Port land Office on Fridays; April 21, 28, May 5, 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a potluck lunch Homebuyer Training consists of three 3 hour class ses sions and will be held on the following schedule. Thursdays; April 20, 27, May 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays; June 8, 15, 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesdays; July 11, 18, 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays; September 12, 19, 26, from 9 a.m. to noon These classes will be held at the Housing Authority. Council Takes Tour Of New Tribal Housing Development That Opens This Summer Tribal Council members Wink Soderberg, Wesley "Buddy"West, Kathleen Tom, Angie Blackwell, Reyn Leno and Jan Reibach took a tour of the new hoousing complex on Friday, April 7. Housing Director Carina Kistler Ginter guided the tour and was on-hand to provide any questions about the progress of the new development.
