The Tribal Council, in consultation with the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners, has approved the expansion of the Home Repair Grant Program outside the State of Oregon to now include the States of Washington and California. This expansion will first be offered as a pilot project during the remaining months in 2005, at which time the project will be evaluated for consideration of continued funding. Five applicants will be randomly selected from each State from among the applications received. This means that program eligible Tribal members who reside in Wash ington and California will be able to apply for a chance to receive a Home Repair Grant up to a maximum of $10,000 to make repairs to their home. To apply for a Home Repair Grant, the applicant must be a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde, 18 years of age or older, live within one of the States, meet income requirements and live in and own the home needing repairs. Applications will be available on August 1, 2005. You can obtain an application by calling 1-503-879-2401 or 1-800-422-0232 extension 2401 and one will be mailed to you, or through the Tribe's website. Applications must be postmarked no later than September 1, 2005 to qualify. All appli cations will be double checked for appropriate post office date stamp to qualify for entry into the drawing. After the application period has closed, all applications will be checked for completeness and collected for a lottery drawing to determine the order in which the households will be served. Applications not selected for the pilot project will be placed on a waiting list to receive a grant if the Ex- " panded Home Repair Grant is approved for continued funding. 2nd Anwiial MMvrlal Harttth IiruMl K.S.V.F.
