Shown here is Tribal member Coleen Payne working on a drum. Instructor Tribal member Travis Mercier assisted a variety of participants, from several El ders to a mom with her baby. The day was filled with ceremony, sharing, helping and laughter. The students offered a genuine appreciation for this class where many had the chance to make their first drum, to share in their culture, to provide something for their children and to further strengthen the Portland Tribal office. Thanks to Tribal Council for making this possible. Jon George would like to thank thank Butch Davis, from Shelter Products, Inc. in Portland for donating the wood used as backing for nailing holes in the hide.
