14 MAY 1, 2003 Smoke Signals s Timber Sale Auction On The Grand Ronde Indian Reservation Three sales of Tribal timber on the Grand Ronde Indian Reservation in Yamhill County, Oregon will be open for public bid: The "Two Fingers Logging Unit" is located in portions of Section 18, Township 5S, Range 7W, and in portions of Sections 12 & 13, Town ship 5S, Range 8W, Willamette Meridian. This logging unit contains approximately 36.8 acres to be clearcut harvested. The timber consists of an estimated volume of 1,783,000 board feet of Douglas-fir and Other Conifers Peeler and Sawmill Grade Logs to be auctioned at a mini mum bid rate of $323.85 per thousand board feet net scale, and a predetermined volume of 15,000 board feet of Red Alder and Other Hardwoods Peeler and Sawmill Grade Logs to be sold at the prede termined lump-sum price of $5,538.30; an undetermined volume of All Conifer Species Wood Logs and Other Wood Products may be sold at the predetermined rate of $66.68 per thousand board feet gross scale or $10.14 per ton, as applicable. The "Elk Ridge Thin Logging Unit" is located in portions of Sections 10 & 14, Township 5S, Range 8W, Willamette Meridian. This logging unit contains approximately 98.73 acres to be thinned and 12.32 acres to be clearcut harvested. The timber consists of an estimated volume of 2,052,000 board feet of Douglas-fir and Other Conifers Peeler and Sawmill Grade Logs to be auctioned at a minimum bid rate of $318.48 per thousand board feet net scale. Red Alder and Other Hard woods Peeler and Sawmill Grade Logs may be sold at the predeter mined rate of $355.13 per thousand board feet net scale; All Conifer Species Wood Logs and Other Wood Products may be sold at the predetermined rate of $66.68 per thousand board feet gross scale or $10.14 per ton, as applicable. The "Beaver Fever Logging Unit" is located in portions of Sections 7, 16 & 17, Township 5S, Range 8W, Willamette Meridian. This logging unit contains approximately 77.3 acres to be clearcut harvested. The timber consists of an estimated volume of 3,703,000 board feet of Douglas-fir and Other Conifers Peeler and Sawmill Grade Logs to be auctioned at a minimum bid rate of $380.76 per thousand board feet net scale, and a predetermined volume of 205,000 board feet of Red Alder and Other Hardwoods Peeler and Sawmill Grade Logs to be sold at the predetermined lump-sum price of $73,728.25; an undeter mined volume of All Conifer Species - Wood Logs and Other Wood Products may be sold at the predetermined rate of $62.01 per thou sand board feet gross scale or $9.43 per ton, as applicable. The stated volumes for each of the above timber sales are estimates and are not guaranteed. Bid opening will take place at the Grand Ronde Natural Resources Office located at 47010 SW Hebo Road, Grand Ronde, Oregon, at 2:00 PM, Local Time, on Tuesday, May 13, 2003. Signup began April 1 and will continue until an ending signup date is announced. This is NOT an additional program but an extension of the program that Klamath County was eligible for last November and December. Therefore producers who have already received payment un der this program are not eligible. Eligible livestock are cattle, sheep, goats and buffalo, as well as catfish. IN THE TRIBAL COURT OF THE CONFEDERATED TRIBES OF THE GRAND RONDE COMMUNITY OF OREGON In the Matter of: LANE CASE NO. C-03-02-001 Margie Butler, ORDER GRANTED NAME CHANGE Petitioner. for LANE, Justin (Minor Child) THIS MATTER came before the Court on February 19, 2003. Based on the allegations set forth in the Petition For Change of Name and New Birth Certificate - Juvenile filed by the Petitioner in the above entitled case, and based on the Court's examination of the Applicant, the Peti tioner and other interested parties at the Show Cause Hearing held on April 10. 2003. THE COURT FINDS THAT: 1. Petitioner is over 18 years of age and is the parent or legal guardian of Applicant, a minor child; 2. Petitioner is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon; 3. Petitioner has not been granted a change of name by the Tribal Court within the past twelve (12) months; 4. All persons entitled to notice have been properly served with a copy of the Notice To Parents and Legal Guardians; 5. No objection to the Petition has been filed by any parent or legal guard ian of the minor child and no objection was raised at the Show Cause Hearing; and 6. The proposed name change is in the best interests of the minor child. THEREFORE, BASED ON THE FOREGOING FINDINGS, THE COURT ORDERS: 1. That the name of the Applicant be changed from Justin Lee Lane to Justin Lee Butler : 2. That the Clerk of the Tribal Court shall cause a copy of this Order to be published in the Tribal Newsletter; 3. That the Clerk of the Tribal Court shall submit a certified copy of this Order to the Tribal Enrollment office; 4. That the Clerk of the Court shall provide Petitioner with a certified copy of this Order to be submitted by Petitioner to the Registrar of Vital Statistics in the state in which the applicant was born; 5. That upon receipt of the certified copy of the Order, the Registrar shall issue a new birth certificate of the applicant to reflect the new name of the applicant as stated in this Order and shall change any designation of race or national origin on the birth certificate to reflect that the Petitioner is an American Indian; 6. That the Petitioner, on behalf of the minor child, shall surrender all old Tribal Identification Cards bearing Applicant's former name to the Tribal Enrollment Office prior to the Enrollment Office issuing Applicant new Tribal Identification Cards bearing the Applicant's new name; and 7. That within sixty (60) days from the date of this Order the Tribal Enrollment staff, and, if necessary, the Tribal Enrollment Committee, shall cause new Tribal Identification Cards to be issued to Applicant show ing the new name of the Tribal member and shall change the official mem bership roll and all official enrollment records of the Tribe to reflect the applicant's new name as stated in this Order. IT IS SO ORDERED THIS 16 DAY OF April. 2003.
