SMOKESIGNALS I fj)0rf 0(00)00 G 7 Adult education assistance; Grand Ronde GED classes For tribal members who want to improve their jobeducational opportunities or life skills, the Adult Education Program can cover the fees and tuition for one class a term. Classes may include such subjects as basic computer, math, writing, and reading skills. Senior citizens may also be interested in taking classes through their community library, college or hospital. For information on fee assistance, please contact Gayla Tulensru at 879-2282 or 1-800-422-0232, ext. 2282. GED classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in Grand Ronde. Portland moccasin demo May 9; drum making class to come Thanks Portland! Enough people have inquired about Moccasin Making Classes. Ten tative date for the Moccasin Demonstration is May 9 at the Portland Public Schools Child Services Center, located at 53 1 S.E. 14th (just off 14th and Stark). The classroom is C-19, located across from the gym. The demonstration will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Although slots are filled for the moccasin making classes, anyone who wishes to attend the demonstration is welcome. Those who are signed up for classes must attend the dem onstration class to be eligible for the Moccasin Making classes. Additional Portland area tribal members who are 16 years of age or older are still needed . to sign up for the Drum Making Class. The class takes 3 to 4 hours and students take home a completed drum.
