Staff please call ext. 2410 by 9:30 a.m. i X , v. : : i : ; i t i Alan Lee Porter, 40, of Grants Pass died September 15 in Smith River, California. Alan was born February 8, 1956 in Springfield. In 1986 he moved to Grants Pass from Brookings where he grew up. He worked in the logging industry for over 20 years in Brookings and Grants Pass. For the last two years he worked as a painter. His hobbies included hiking, fishing, camping, hunting, and motorcycling. He loved being in the woods and the outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Patty; three sons, Joseph Porter, Jamie McEntire, and Nicholas Porter, all of Grants Pass; a sister, Leah Wilson of Alaska; two brothers, Lloyd Porter and Kevin Porter, both of Washing ton; his mother, Lanora Young of Soldotna, Alaska; two grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Club activities take place on days indicated from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Tribal Wellness Building. BEAR CUBS will meet on Mondays and Fridays. This group is involved in crafts, games, and cultural activities. WOLF PACK will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This group is involved with bas ketball and cultural activities. Permission Form: All children must have a current permission form filed with the Wellness Department. Transportation: The Wellness Depart ment will provide transportation from Wil lamina Middle School, Little Foot Day Care Center, and Grand Ronde Elementary School. These are the ONLY locations that children can be picked up from. Parents please pick your children up at S p.m. at the Wellness Building. Housing Advisory Board still needs volunteers Grand Ronde Tribal Housing Authority (GRTHA) is again looking for volunteer tribal members to serve a one year term on the Housing Advisory Board (HAB). The purpose of the Housing Advisory Board is to give input into the various hous ing programs and projects as directed by the Authority's Board of Commissioners. Anyone with an interest in serving in this capacity is invited to send a letter of inter est to Linda Laydcn, Executive Director, GRTHA, 9615 Grand Ronde Road, Grand Ronde, OR 97347, by October 11, 1996. Meetings will be held as needed, rather than on a regular schedule. Other than preparation for and attendance at meetings, time requirements should be minimal. However, commitment and attendance at the meetings will be important. The first project requiring HAB input will be the upcoming Elder housing funded by HUD. Education Committee to meet on Mondays The Education Committee has established the following meeting dates which will be held the first Monday of every month from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Salem Chemeketa Community College Campus: October 7: Bldg. 50, Rm. 1 1 1, November 4: Bldg. 50, Rm. 1 1 1 , and December 2: Bldg. 4, Rm. 275.
