I ? ; I - ; 1 V..f."".'., .'.. ; ' John, pictured at left, with his sister Arvella Mouck and brother Gene Hudson. John Freeman Hudson was born March 28, 1917 to Maude Warren Hudson and Abraham Hudson. Most of John's eleven brothers and sis ters have passed away, except for his sister, Arvella Houck, and brother, Gene Hudson. John and Rose Bell Hudson had one son, John Jr., ofNewberg, and one daughter. She and Rose have also passed away. Having served in the Aleutian Islands and Alaska during World War II, John returned to Salem and he finally settled in Spring field, where he has worked and resided for many years. John remains active with his many hobbies and interests. Special congratulations to John and his family. He is expecting his first grandchild in July. Firewood available March 9 through 25 U-Cut firewood will be available March 9-25 through the Natural Resources Division by appointment only. There are approximately eight cords available, located at a recent tim ber sale site on the reservation. Firewood will be made available on a first-come, first serve basis. Therefore, obtaining a permit does not guarantee you a cord of wood. Polk County Soil and Conservation is offering Fecal Coliform (human waste) kits to test well water. The cost of each kit is $11.50. Please contact the Dallas office at 289 E.
