SMOKE SIGNALS October 1, 1995 Page 7 Adult Vocational Training Program The Adult Vocational Training Program will now accept applications for enrollment from Tribal members who reside out of the six county service area. Due to limited funding, only three eligible applicants who live out of the service area, will be awarded funding during the 1 99596 academic year. Applications are available by calling the Tribal Education Program office at 1-800-422-0232, and requesting an AVT application. Deadline to apply to Education Programs 199596 Academic Year Fall TermSemester 1995 is as follows: Higher Education Program - 24 students; Adult Vocational Training Program - 8 students; Education Trust Fund Scholarship - 23 students. Higher Education Program: Winter TermSpring Semester - November 1 , 1 995 Spring Term - February 1, 1996 Adult Vocational Training Program: Open enrollment, dependent upon determination of eligibility if enrolled in a propriety school (usually takes 30 to 45 days). Deadline dates above apply to those who plan to attend a Community College. Education Trust Fund Scholarship Program: April 30, 1996 for the 199697 academic year. Fall GEDABE classes offered This fall the GED classes will be held at the new training center at 28840 Salmon River Hwy. Non-tribal members are wel come at the GED level. A monthly fee of $25 will be assessed. Schedule is as follows: Tues days from 1 1 :30 a.m. to 1 :30 p.m.; Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and Thursdays from 1 1:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. October 3, 4, 5; 10, 11, 12; 17, 18, 19; and 24, 25, 26. Novem ber 1,2; 7, 8, 9; 14, 15, 16; and 28,29,30. December 5, 6, 7; and 12, 13, 14. Please call if you have a sched uling conflict with class times. Also, in the event of bad weather, please call to see if classes have been cancelled. ABILITY TO: Work independently; exercise initiative and judgment in completing tasks; lift heavy objects; follow written instructions; establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.
