New Face: Linda Mann Greetings from the state of Arizona! My name is Linda Mann and I am the new dental hygienist here at the Grand Ronde Tribal Dental Clinic. My husband and 18 month old son just moved from the Grand Canyon state to this beautiful green state of Oregon. We are excited to live and work in such a beautiful location, but after living in dry, hot Arizona, the rain will take some getting used to. Let me tell you a little about my background. I graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene in 1 986. 1 have spent the last seven years working in private practice in various dental offices. Although I enjoyed private practice, I have always wanted to get more involved in dental health education and community activities and am pleased I will get to do that in Grand Ronde. I will be seeing patients three days per week here at the clinic for preventative services which include dental cleanings, treatment of periodontal diseases (pyorrhea), applying dental sealants and helping you find ways to keep your mouth in tip-top shape. The other two days per week I will be busy doing tribal and community prevention activities including speaking to the kids at summer school, doing some staff in-service training and visiting the schools this fall to provide dental education. You will be hearing more from me each month as I continue to bring you news from the dental clinic on topics relating to your dental health. I look forward to meeting you and being part of the Grand Ronde staff and community. ATTENTION! If you plan to attend school, Higher Education, or Adult Vocational Training during the 1993-94 school year, you must submit your application to the tribal office by these dates: Fall term 1993 deadline July 1, 1993 Winter term 1993 Nov. 1, 1993 Spring term 1994 February 28, 1994 Summer term 1994 April 30, 1994 Head Start Intake If you are interested in signing a child up in Head Start, you may do an intake session with Angie Bedortha at the Grand Ronde Head Start Center.
