New Face: Linda Mann
Greetings from the state of Arizona! My name is
Linda Mann and I am the new dental hygienist here at the
Grand Ronde Tribal Dental Clinic. My husband and 18
month old son just moved from the Grand Canyon state to
this beautiful green state of Oregon. We are excited to live
and work in such a beautiful location, but after living in dry,
hot Arizona, the rain will take some getting used to.
Let me tell you a little about my background. I
graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor
of Science degree in dental hygiene in 1 986. 1 have spent the
last seven years working in private practice in various dental
offices. Although I enjoyed private practice, I have always
wanted to get more involved in dental health education and
community activities and am pleased I will get to do that in
Grand Ronde.
I will be seeing patients three days per week here at
the clinic for preventative services which include dental
cleanings, treatment of periodontal diseases (pyorrhea),
applying dental sealants and helping you find ways to keep
your mouth in tip-top shape. The other two days per week
I will be busy doing tribal and community prevention
activities including speaking to the kids at summer school,
doing some staff in-service training and visiting the schools
this fall to provide dental education.
You will be hearing more from me each month as
I continue to bring you news from the dental clinic on topics
relating to your dental health. I look forward to meeting you
and being part of the Grand Ronde staff and community.
ATTENTION!
If you plan to attend school, Higher
Education, or Adult Vocational Training
during the 1993-94 school year, you must

Tags No Longer Transferrable
The Grand Ronde Tribal Council has ammended
the Fish and Wildlife Ordinance to read under Section (v) (3)
Sentence l-Only a tribal elder or a handicapped person
may transfer a tag to another licensed enrolled tribal
member. The transferring member is still responsible for
returning the tag or reporting the status of the tag.
This resolution means that if a hunting tag is
allocated to you, you will not be permitted to give it to
someone else to hunt game for you unless you are an elder or
handicapped.
The Tribal Council for the Confederated Tribes of
the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon adopted this
resolution at a regularly scheduled meeting, with a quorum
present as required by the Grand Ronde Constitution held on
June 2, 1 993 by a vote of 6 yeas, 0 no, and 0 abstentions. See
pages 6 & 7 for more hunting info.
