V t Ai Kit, General Council: Rules of Conduct The purpose of General Council Meetings is to discuss tribal issues and generate comment from the tribal membership. The following is a list of rules desiped to insure fair and equal participation to all those who wish to make a statement. The next General Council Meeting will be Sunday, February 7, 1993, at the tribal Community Center, at 11:30 A.M. Potluck will follow. 1. The Council will welcome input from anyone present No one will be denied the opportunity to speak. However, we ask that you request the floor, and the Chairman will recognize you. 2. Try not to interrupt the person speaking unless you ask questions for clarification. 3 . Try to monitor your speaking so that you are able to avoid any negative influence to others in the organization. 4. Try to define an issue to discuss. If your concern isn't consistent with the subject on theagenda, thcnitmustwaitfortheagendaitemHOtherBusiness", Everyone present will receive a copy of the agenda. 5. If someone starts to get upset, try to let himher speak out first, then ask the Chairman for further discussion. 6. Let's all try to be an example for future generations or anyone who looks to the Tribe for guidance. We all need to remember that if success is to come in anything, it must come gently without stress or obsession. To my most precious Valentines: Bill, Charles, Hope, & Joshua. I love you, CeCe.
