This will help members in two ways: It will help the Health Department collect revenue that will be put back into the clinic, and it will help members get their deductible met. Some members may have already received an explanation of benefits from their insurance companies for the tribal Health Clinic showing what the insurance has paid and what has gone to meet deductible. It will also show a patient balance. Patients do not need to worry about this amount. Tribal members being seen in the clinic will not be charged the balance not covered by insurance. In order for the Health Department to bill an insurance company, they need tribal members to bring in their insurance information or a copy of their insurance card when they come into the clinic. It would also help a great deal if patients filled out the PAO-21 (yellow health form) completely. With your employer, insurance name, policy number, and social security number. The health Department will also start to bill patient's insurance for their dental visits. If you have a different insurance for your dental, please let the Health Department know. If you have any questions please call Mary Brickell, 1-800-775-0095 or 879-2000. (Please see related health stories on page 11.)
