TITLE VI A, INDIAN EDUCATION Willamina School District 30J The Title IV A program is busy getting the documentation needed for the grant proposal for the 8586 school year. If your children are of Indian descent and eligible for Title IV A benefits, they must be registered in the program. Eligibility: Students must have documentation showing IndianAlaskan heritage. If you need help with documentation, contact either Jayne Mercier, program coordinator, or Margo George, Grand Ronde Enrollment Clerk, at 879-5215. A 506 form is required to be on file for each student who receives the programs services. These services include tutoring, cultural classes, field trips, etc. If you have not yet received a 506 form, please contact Jayne. She can be reached at the Grand Ronde School. If she is out on field service, please leave a message, so she may return your call. Non registered students will not receive any Title IV A benefits. Here is an update on the program so far this school year: October 20-25, The Coordinator attended the National Indian Education Association conven tion in Spokane, Washington. November 12 & 13, Coordinator and L.E.A. Liaison attended a Pre-Grant Writing workshop in Portland, Ore. This workshop was given by the resource and evaluation Center III from Seattle, Washington. The 198586 Grant application deadline is February 13, 1985. December 2, Title IV A will be taking students from the high school to the annual Career Awareness Day at Oregon State University in Corvallis. It is sponsored by O.S.U. and the Oregon Indian Education Association. December 2, The next regular meeting of the Title IV A Parent Committee. We will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Ronde Elementary School. Please attend and be informed of what the program has to offer. If you have any questions, we will do our best to answer them.
