Spilyay Tymoo, Warm Springs, Oregon August 10, 2022 Plan for clinic expansion, renovation The Indian Health Service plan for capital improve- ments and renovations to the Warm Springs clinic are mov- ing forward. The project— called the War m Springs Health and Wellness Center Planned Consolidated Com- munity Campus—is ap- proaching the full design phase. IHS has issued the results of its environment impact study of the expansion and renovation. The clinic will see major expansion and renovation work. (see page 6). The recent IHS environ- mental assessment summa- rizes the planned scope of the expansion work as fol- lows: The project is a phased series of capital improve- ment projects to renovate and expand the existing Health and Wellness Cen- ter. A long-term benefit of the project will be the con- solidation of healthcare de- partments into one building on site with sufficient capac- ity to serve the 10-year pro- jected user population. Clinic chief executive di- rector Hyllis Dauphinais this year proposed and received approval for a larger expan- sion, as the project was first proposed some years ago. The added space to the expansion is intended to give longer service life to the fa- cility, Mr. Dauphinais said. The proposed expansion and renovation “reflects the Warm Springs Joint Health Commission’s preferences as reflected in the Tribal Coun- cil approved 10-year master plan for the proposed facility renovation and expansion,” the IHS report says. Phase 1 will be the Pri- mary Care and Phar macy building expansion. This phase also includes renova- tion of the Lab, Imaging and specialty Care areas. Phase 2 will be the Den- tal building expansion, includ- ing renovation of Eye Care, Audiology, IT, and Property and Supply. Phase 3: Rehabilitation and Administration building expansion, including added space for business offices and other clinic services. Phase 4: Behavioral Health renovation, and Ad- ministration building expan- sion, including building ex- pansions for public facilities, education and group consul- tation, and Community Wellness.
