Christmas Pageant The David famEy is thank ing aE the people for the suc cess o f the Sixteenth Annual Christmas Pageant, held on D ecem b er 10, 2013. T h e play o f “Peace Came in a Cradle” was perform ed by v o lu n te e r y o u th . We are thanking aE the parents and g ran d m a’s fo r having the youth dressed on time for practice and the play. F o o d was p re p a re d by KimiKo and her staff. They had the food ready to serve on time. D uring the meal, music was by “The Webbers” with a four-piece band sing ing Christmas carols. O pen ing perform ance was flute music played by KC Green follow ed by one seven o f W ashat by th e L onghouse youth— signing o f the Lord’s Prayer by aE the cast was led by Starla Green. T he pro g ram began 16 years ago, held at my home at Lower D ry Creek. I had seven famEy kids I was car ing for. We were at Wal-Mart and they were aE in line to see Santa. O ne o f my girls said, “W hy d o esn ’t Santa com e to the reservation?” Mrs. Clause overheard and conferred w ith Mr. Clause. She came up to me and said Mr. Clause wanted to come to W arm Springs. So they came to my home, where I was holding a smaE party for my kids and neighbor kids. I t flourished from that year, getting bigger each year. So I was asked by past chief -op erations officer Gerald Smith to share it with the commu nity.
