Officer Russell Spino was nam ed the C o n se rv a tio n O ffic e r o f th e Y ear for 2013; and o ffic e r Je rro d D aniel received the Chief Sealth Award. P resented annually, the Native Am erican Fish and W ildlife C onservation O f ficer o f the Year Award is bestow ed upon a m em ber who “exemplifies dedication and hard w ork to the en forcement field.” The Chief Sealth Award is given to “an outstanding natural resource m anager w ho has made a significant and positive impact on N a tive natural resources.” - “The recognition o f O f ficers Daniel and Spino in the same year is a real testament to the quality o f enforce m ent officers that work along the Columbia River,” said D avis W ashines, CRITFC Chief o f E nforcem ent C hief W ashines nom i nated Officer Spino for his work on the Columbia River, and his dedication to service Russell Spino This is the first time two individu als from the same organisation have recognised in the - same yea r... to tribal fishers and their communities. Spino is a m em ber o f thé Confederated Tribes o f the Warm Springs. H e entered fish eries e n fo rc e m e n t 12 years ago after seeing tribal efforts to rebuild salm on runs, and wanting'to contrib ute to the efforts. “There are hundreds o f Jerrod Daniel tribal conservation officers across Indian country that are dedicated to what we do,” said officer Spino. “I am h onored to have received this award.” H C hief W ashines nom i nated Officer Daniel for his dedication to river safety and arch e o lo g ic al p ro te c tio n along the Columbia River. Daniel joined CRITFC six years ago because he always wanted to work outdoors. H e created CRITFC’s O p eration Stay Afloat, a. p ro gram designed to educate In dian fishers about boating safety, the need to wear per sonal floatation devices, and cold-water survival. MHS schedule of events H ere is a schedule o f upcom ing events at Ma dras High School: “C hief Sealth has always been an inspiration to me,” said O ffice r D aniel. “ H is words have always resonated with me and I ’m very thank ful to have been selected for this award.” As m em b e rs of CRITFC’s enforcement team, they are responsible for the protection o f treaty rights, tribal fishing resources, and tribal cultural resources along the Colum bia River o f the four Columbia River Treaty Tribes. The new establishment is open from from 11 a.m. till 11 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday; and from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant serves steaks, salmon, burgers wings, among other items. There is a stage area for live music, and 30 class II gaming machines. The Warm Springs Grill is located in the ground floor area that previously housed Indian Head Casino.
