Representing JGSD at die Annual Oregon FBLA State Business Leadership Conference in April, were 10th graders: Melissa Olivera (2nd ; ‘ place, Word Processing); Stephanie Olivera (1st place, Business Math); and Jenni Young (3rd place, Word Processing). Skills USA is a national nonprofit organization that works to prepare students for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. There were 14 MHS students who qualified for the state competition, eight of whom-also qualified for Nationals. Madras High School has launched a peer mediation program to support students who are working through conflicts at school. The program offers students a chance to work with their peers before going to administrators to resolve issues. “I think mediation is great because we can help people talk out their problems, but they fix it, we don’t.
