Spilyay Tymoo, Warm Springs, Oregon Page 6 Recreation to host 49th holiday hoops tournament Registration deadline this Friday The Forty-Ninth Annual W arm Springs All Indian Mens H oliday Basketball Tournam ent is Wednesday through Saturday, Dec. 26- 29, The deadline for inter ested teams is this Friday, Dec. 14. The tournament will be in the Warm Springs Commu nity Center. This tournament'will be open to the first 12 All In dian Men’s teams. Awards include ten em broidered Pendleton wool jackets; runner up, embroi dered jackets; third place, hooded sweatshirts; fourth place, crewnecks; fifth place awards. Also: ' M ost Valuable Player, Mister Hustle, 12 All T ourney team , and team sportsmanship. Opening round games will begin on Wednesday, Dec. 26, with four games on the sched ule. The first game will begin at 4 p.m., followed by games at 5:30, 7 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday will have three games for session two: at 12 noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 ¡p.m.; and three session three games at: 6, 7:30 and 9 p.m. Session four games on Fri day begin at 1:30 p.m., fol lowed by a game at 3 p.m. Session five on Friday, the semi-finals, will have games at 6 and then at 7:30 p.m. Finals day is scheduled for Saturday with two sessions. The fifth-place game is at 1:30 p.m., and the fourth-place game at 3 p.m. The final session will be championship round begin ning at 6:30 p.m. (third place game); and the championship at 8 p.m. Miss Warm Springs Pageant on Dec. 20 Young ladies who want to run for miss Warm Springs need to contact Bridgette Scott before December 20 to get an application. T he Miss Warm Springs Pageant is on De cember 20 at the Agency Longhouse. Dinner will begin at 6, and the pageant at 7. December 12, 2012 Oregon Silver Gloves Competition LTywan Thompson, 11, and his brother LeBron, 8, won their bouts at the Oregon Silver Gloves competition, and will now advance to the Silver Gloves Regional tourna ment in Spokane. LeBron fought in the 65-pound division, and was vic torious over his opponent, Matthew Espinoza. During the Dec. 8 Oregon Silver Gloves tournament, Christmas tree permits available Tribal, BIA, IHS and Postal employees, and Warm Springs churches, are permit^ ted to cut a Christmas, tree on tribal land. There is a limit of one tree per family. All non-tribal member employees must get a Christmas tree tag from the Forestry office. Regulation information, harvest locations and road conditions can also be ob tained at Forestry. Yvonne Iverson/Spilyay Kywan Thompson, 11, entered the ring for his twenty- fourth fight. You can bring donations to the Housing office up un til December 21. Each person on a team tracks their exercise minutes for the month of November. Team minutes are being calculated and the winners will be announced on Friday, December 21.
