The.first-place team, from Pordand, received leather jack ets plus $870 cash: Mike Norris (also received a pool stick do nated by Jo yce C am eron); Shawn Wolf (also received an an tler knife m ade by Toba Scott, in m em ory o f W ilm a Scott); and Bobb Rasmussen. The second-place team, from Portland, received vests plus $520 cash: Smitty (also received a antler knife donated by Toba Scott); Terry Auft, and Tommy Milhouse. The third-place team received sweatshirts plus $350 cash: Stella Speedis (also received a antler knife donated by Toba Scott); Pat Guzman, and Lee Puyette, from Washington. The tournament started on A pril 23rd at 10 a.m ., after prayer and song by Billy Begay. Teams started playing on Sat urday, April 23, finally ending on Sunday, April 24 by 6 p.m., for a total of 29 teams regis tered. We would like to take this time to thank all the players; families of the players we were honoring; Jan Six and all her staff who opened the bar to al low us to play for the three days starting on Friday with the jack pot until the last day on Sunday (Easter Sunday). Thank you to the staff at R ialto and D esert Inn who helped prepare some o f the food for Saturday, along with Brenda Sconowah and Lillian Gilando for their fry bread for the luncheon/dinner held for all those who attended, and the many volunteers who brought food to help serve the players, audience and visitors at the Rialto on Saturday. For the assistance in ensur ing the games were going on in a timely manner I would like to thank the following: Glenda K essel, assistance with the books and brackets; Clint Smith for assisting in fol low-up with tables being moni tored and teams on standby; referees were Chief Smith, Del Frint and Levi Vanpelt. It was an honor to hold this tour nament in memory of all those fam ily m embers and friends who have gone on to honor them at this event. It was good to see all the players come together to enjoy themselves and to remem ber those players being honored, w heth er they played at the Rialto, the Meet Market, Porter house, Shangri-la, Rainbow Tav ern, Warm Springs Youth Club or other location.
