r ~l Spilyay Tymoo, Wdfrn Springs, Oregon In the Spirit of Giving Diabetes Prevention events Diabetes awareness and prevention activities for the month of May include the following: Tuesday, May 10: Diabe tes H ealthy B reakfast: 9 a.m. in the kitchen confer ence room. Education: Jeri Kollen on diabetes compli cations. May 17: Diabetes Aware ness Dinner, 5-7 p.m. Edu cation: Jeri Kollen on kid- ney/heart/liver affected by diabetes. Menu: Stew, bread, fruit and crystal light. May 24: Diabetes Health B reakfast, 9 a.m. in the kitchen conference room. Education: Linda Porter on nutrition. Inmates at the Warm Springs Correctional Facility enjoyed a healthy holiday meal prepared by the Warm Springs Community Health Department staff. More Letters to the Editor Through life I was reminded this morning about the importance of love, acknowledgment, appreciation, and sincerity. Success and setbacks are viewed differently by people, so I am referring to the success and setbacks I have experienced throughout my life. Experienc ing both, there have been sev eral people who remained at my side no matter what to encour age and support me culturally, financially, professionally, and sincerely. There are so many others I can list that have offered sup port through sincere friendships and kinships as well that I want to express that I love you even more for the continued great ness and sincerity. I am so thankful that I couldn’t even imagine being able to ever show the amount of love, acknowledgments, appre ciation, and compassion I have for you who’ve been involved. I love, care, believe, and work for positive change just as you have shown. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or in recent times, I want you to know it meant a lot to me and I could not have been as success ful without you.
