The body o f Mr. Peter was recovered from the river by of ficials from the Yakama Nation, C olum bia River In ter-T rib al F ish eries E n fo rc e m e n t, an d Skamania County. They were assisted by N atu ral Resources research staff and v o lu n te e rs fro m th e W arm Springs tribe participating in search efforts. The body was discovered in the C olum bia River approxi mately one-half mile west o f the m outh o f the W ind River. The two Yakama Nation fish ermen who remain missing (as o f press time for this paper) are G ailen E spirito and Rom m el Strom The three m en were engaged in a b rief com m ercial fishery when they were reported miss ing the morning o f May 7. Their fishing boat along with personal items were recovered later that day near H om e Valley State Park seven miles East o f Stevenson, Wash. Family m em bers, tribal spiritual leaders and volunteers have kept a vigil at the park since they were reported miss ing. Multiple local and tribal agen cies, along w ith hundreds o f v o lu n te e rs, have c o n d u c te d daily searches focusing on both Oregon and Washington shore lines as well as surface water.
