H e was 33. Mr. Solomon was born on May 2 2 , 1 9 7 4 to parents Wanda Suppah VanPelt and Ronald Kalama. M ichael K alam a (“B ig Mike” to friends and family) was a lo v in g dad, so n b rd th e r, nephew , u n cle, grandson and friend. H e will be remembered for his big smile and good sense o f humor. He was rec ognized as a gifted child when was about 6 or 7 years old at W arm Springs E l ementary School. H e was a M adras H ig h School 1992 graduate. MichaePs dream was to attend the Culi nary Arts School at Portland. He enjoyed cooking and eat ing, drawing, journaling, hunt ing and fishing. He excelled at fencing when he worked with th e S alm o n C o rp s and G eo Visions. His last jo b was with the Fire Camp Crew. Floyd J. Stahi, 1937-2007 Floyd J. Stahi o f Wapato passed away at his home on October 17,2007. He was 70. He went to tirade schbol in Roswell, New Mexico, where he learned the meat cutting trade. H e worked as a dis patcher for th e Yakama Na tion Police, and was a ranch hand who truly, enjoyed ‘doing yard work, fishing, playing pool, and going to his grandson’s ath letic events. He also worked ak a commercial fisherman. Yvonne was bom on-Oc- tober 25, 1935 in Wapato, Washington to Rachel Eva VanPelt and Elmer S co tt She was an enrolled member o f the Confederated Tribes o f the Umatilla Indian Reserva tion. She attended Chemewa Indian School in Salem, O r egon; Chemekta Community College and Mt. Hood Com munity College in Portland, Oregon where she was a resi dent for many years. She m arried Raul M ontoya in 1959 and had three children. She worked as a nurse’s aid for many years at the Oregon ster.
