Tristan Ray Glmn Strawn A memorial service for G resham resid en t Rip Lonewolf (a.k.a.) Kenneth Eugene Conner was held Sun day February 18 at Gresham Memorial Chapel. Rip passed away February 16 in Gresham at the age of 70. Rip was born September 5, 1936 in Pendleton, the son o f Raymond J. And Susie (Johnley) Conner. His mother passed away when Rip was 4 years old. He was raised in Simnasho by Hazel Queahpama Tewee, at tending the Warm Springs Boarding School. Rip moved to Portland in the ‘60s. In Pordand he later became a drug and alcohol counselor for the Native American Rehabilitation As sociation, working 20-plus years. The natural athlete plays volleyball and participates in track and field -b u t basket ball is her main passion. It was because o f her skills on the basketball court that Abby recently received an MVT (most valuable player) award at the 'Blamin’ Blayers tournament at the Community Center. Abby said receiving the award came as a surprise. “It was so sweet, ” she said. “I ju s t could not stop smiling because it was really special. ” The 12year-old seventh grader said sports are one o f her main interests. “Sports is kind o f my life, ” she explained. The daughter o f James and Amy Scott, Abby credits a lot o f her success to the support o f her parents.
