Johnson placed third in av erage at the rodeo, held at the rodeo grounds at Klamath Falls. There were a total o f 200 high school students who par ticipated in the rodeo, includ ing 40 breakaway ropers. Johnson, 17, will be a se nio r n ext year at M adras High School. There is a lot of travel involved in participating in the high school rodeo cir cuit, and it couldn’t be done with family support. Is Your C ar R ead y for Hot w e a th e r? Kids Rodeo continues on July 16 The dates for the last two Squiemphen-Yazzie Kids Rodeo series has changed (please up date your calendar). They are as follows: Third rodeo series is Sunday, July 16. Entries will be taken until the day o f the rodeo. Entries open Tuesday, July 11. Office hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fourth and final rodeo series is Sunday, August 13. Entries will be taken until the day of the rodeo. Entries open Tuesday, August 8. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Both rodeos start at 1 p.m. at the W arm Springs Rodeo Grounds. Kids 15 years and younger can enter the rodeo. Events in clude: steer riding, calf riding, barrel racing, stickless horse race, dummy roping and the Wild Colt Race. Chiloquin hosting rodeo next weekend The Chiloquin Jackpot Rodeo is Friday-Sunday, July 14-16 at the rodeo grounds at Chiloquin. Events include saddle bronc, bull riding, bareback, breakaway, bull dogging, kids steer riding (9-13 years), mixed team roping, open team roping, calf roping, barrel racing, and wild horse race. Awards in all events. A ll- Around saddle awarded to top money winner. Rodeo Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Adults $6, kids $2, kids 6 and under free.
