Lily Ann had many relatives across the miles and had many friends who had showed support of being there to sec her departure and others who have not had the chance to make it. We thank everyone for their prayers and blessings they have shared and we know that she will be missed by many people of whose lives she had touched. We thank all those who had taken the time to show us what to do and the planning of the funeral, for her death was sudden and shocking for all who knew her. If we forget some names of the list of people, we do apologize for it is very stressful at Priorities, priorities, as we have to make the decisions of what is needed the most when we are planning the coming year. In the Communications branch we really need a building that would house the whole branch, which includes the radio station KWSO, The Print shop, the Public Relations office and the Spilyay Tymoo. At the present time the branch is scattered all over the place in different locations. The radio station is located over at Kahneeta, the Public Relations office is housed in a modular trailer with space dwindling To the Editor, . i j ..... . , , . . No matter how big and impressive other places have we still manage to have, the best time here with a parade, games in the afternoon along with a Bar-'B-que of Bear and Venison. Also Hamburgers, Hot-dogs and what ever fits your liking. To round out a full day with the big fire works display in the evening. We realize why the red, white and blue are observed here on the fourth of July, and many of the young men here were willing to put their lives on the line to preserve the freedom we have today. For seven years she lived with them, always crotchy, always demanding. Finally the old girl died. On the way home from the cemetery, the husband confessed to his wife. "Darling, if I didn't love you so much. I don't think I would have put up with having your Aunt Emma in the house all these years." His wife looked at him with a superized look. This was re ported to the WSPD and officers responded and took the report. No results on who was involved, and the speakers were never recovered. My insurance covered the damage, but I still have to pay the $250 deductible. The most recent incident is the one that has caused the most fear in my home. Early Saturday morning, June 1 , someone shot my home from the hill across the road. We heard the shots hit our home, which was what woke us up. Shortly after that, we heard two more shots go off some where in the area. It wasn't until later that morning that we found where the bullets had hit. One had gone through my living room window and lodged in the wall next to my bed room. The other bullet hits were in my carport area. Apparently this in cident was a result of young people drinking and fighting in the West Hills area. My son was involved with the arguments and was picked up and lodged in jail to pe detoxed. It was have not heard if any follow-up has occurred. In talking with othcryoung people, I find that they themselves have ideas as to who was brazen enough to fire these shots at my home. They also feel that nothing will be done about this incident because of the parents of these young men and where they work. The other incident that happened this last Sunday, also caused some concern. First of all, because I did report it to the Police Department and there has been no follow-up or call-back to reassure me that it was being dealt with. Sunday evening, my daughter was walking home, when an adult woman verbally at tacked and threatened her. My daughter came home angry and up set. I confronted the woman and told her that if she had concerns about what I had done, then she needed to talk to me and not threaten my teen age child. It is these types of incidents that make me wonder what is going on in after he was picked up that the guns . our "Public Safety" department. Is . . And what about the people who are running the Police Depart ment? Where are they in some of the community events? Do they even know the people of the community? How can they better serve a com munity that they don't know? I know that there are those in the Police Department who do the best they can with what they have. I just wonder how much support or direc tion they get when trying to serve the community. The officers who I feel have the community at heart are Of ficer DeBasio and Don Courtney. Maybe some of the others can take the blinds off and take the ear plugs out and take some of the good things that are being done and follow that lead. Again, I would like to stress that it is with a great concern that I write this letter. Our youth are thinking it is all right to continue to commit these crimes as long as no one is getting punished for them. And our commu nity members are paying the price for these crimes. If not through the dollar amounts, then that (we are paying an emotion price of what may be next. Please, please, do not let this fall on deaf ears and blind eyes! FT1 f t - V JlfL. j About two years ago CPS called to ask if I would be willing to take care of my grand kids. At first I didn't want to get envoi ved. Meanwhile my daughter was out drinking using drugs and what not. I was really concerned about my grand daughter. She gave the daughter to us, this was while my wife was still alive and we kept her until my wife passed away. I couldn't take care of her and returned her to her mom. After a while the kids ended up in the Group Home. CPS asked if I could take care of my grand kids, I was concerned about my grand daughter because of the life she had been living was hard to bare. I was taking good care of my grand children and I thought I was doing her a favor taking care of my grand children. You know it really costs to give a good home to children. It ranges up to $600 per month per child and ,came up to $1200 to $1300. Happy Birthday Clifford Tulee Sr. Francis Tulee & Patricia Tulee James from Rosie, Calvin, Dee, Ed. Inez, Effie, Joyce & Iva Happy Birthday Uncle Cubby June 21 From EE-Ja & Chub I thought I was doing my daughter a favor but I was really hurt about getting a court order removing the children from me. My grand children were a big help to me. They kept my mind accupied since I have bad problems from the war. I was put down and it was time to give them back to their mother. It reminded me of my childhood as I grew up in the same situation. I used to wonder where my parents are, why don't they come and take care of me. I never knew where they were or what they were doing and I was always lonely. That's why I wanted to take care of my grand daughter. Things were going very good and all of a sudden here comes my daughter with a court order to take the kids and it hurt watching them being taken away, especially my grand daughter was crying after me say, "I love you grandpa." This I would like to share with other grand parents to be aware what might happen if you don't have the proper documents on hand. I was also up set because they had a hearing on the case and I wasn't notified of what was going on, until I was served with the court order. I feel I was treated bad and with out any appreciation of what I have done for my grand daughter. So grand parents, "Beware." Chesley Yahtin Welcome to our family Lisa Marie Johnson!
