6 December 21, 1995 Warm Springs, Oregon SwlyayTymoo fl Spilyay Tymoo Sports Buffaloes Win In Double OT Over Estacada Ranqers The Estacada Rangers came to town and give the Madras While Buffaloes a big scare, but the Buffaloes kept cool to win the Tri-Vallcy league game in double overtime, by he final score of 82-72, in a real thriller. The Buffs trailed throughout most of the game as the fired up Estacada team kept the pressure on the Buffs. At times it looked lime the Buffs would suffer a home floor loss. Madras post man Scott Riddle helped the Buffs back in contention after he sat out the first quarter and most of the second quarter because of a couple of quick fouls called on him . with-in a couple minutes of the game. . But when he did return to the lineup . things began to happen. Scott Riddle . burned the nets for a total of 34 points for the night to top all scorers and got . the Buffs rolling.. Scott Riddle was doing almost everything good for the Buffs, getting the rebounds on both ends ofthefloorand blocking Estacada shots both under the basket and on the preimetcr; TJ Foltz played a superb game with his quick moves driving toward the basket to score or pass off for an assist.. Both Riddle and Foltz were the only two players in double figures for the Buffs as Foltz collected 15 points for the night. At the end of the first quarter the . Rangers held a 5 point lead over the Buffs and were hustling all over the place keeping the Buffs pretty well at bay. By the time the intermission came around the B uffaloes did get back in the ball game to let the Estacada know that they were still around but Estacada held the lead The Estacada team a very balanced team that could rotate five players at a time and each group played just as good a game as the other. They were all fired up and had the Buffaloes backed to the wall and wouldn't let them run l(X)sc. Each time the Buffs would get ahead one of the Estacada boys would come up with a three pointer to put them back in the lead again. After three quarters the Buffs were finally in the lead 41-40, but the score see-sawed throughout the final quarter and finally ending up in the deadlock at 57 apiece as Foltz let a long shot fly just before the buzzer which hit the rim and bounced away. In the first over time period it looked like the Buffs might have things pretty well in hand but just before the buzzer sounded Estacada managed to tic the score again at 65 all. In the final OT both teams played very tough ball but the fouls cought up with the Rangers and even caused them to draw a big, "T" The Buffs finally pulled away to a ten point win 82-72. In the first game of the tournament the Buffaloes bopped the Eagle Point, a4-A team by thescorc ol 66-44, going away.Thcgamccouldhavcbecnwor.se but substitutions kept the score down and almost all the boys got to sec action in that game. There was a good show ing by the local hoopsters in front of the home town crowd as they routed the Eagle Point team. Scott Riddle, a Jr. poured in a total of 32 points before he sat down for the night. Riddle was good on defense and had a super night scor ing by turning in a total of 32 points for the night. T J Foliz had himself quite a night keeping the opponents on their toes all evening long with his quick drives down the lane or around the sidelines and feeding off to players under the basket, or scoring as well himself.. On Saturday night the champion ship game at slake between The Honkers of Henley and the White Buf faloes of Madras. The game belonged to the I lonkcrs early in the game as they jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it throughout the game.
