Rodeo at the Wasco County Fair-Tygh Valley The Wasco County Fair sur vived a scare of a cloud burst Saturday night. August 18. 1990. but the rodeo went right on sched ule filled with action from the rodeo stock furnished by the B bar D rodeo contractors of Redmond. Oregon. Doingtheannouncing for the rodeo was non other than Jake Grossmiller who does an excellent job as he is very versed on the rodeo game and isaquainted with a lot of the contestants as he gives a little run-down on each contestant during the show. A person like that keeps the show interesting and pleasant to watch. There was action from start to finish both in the rodeo arena and on the race track as race horsemen provided some exciting races dur ing the show. There were a quarter mile, a half mile and a relay race that provided plenty of action. On the final night in the Quarter mile Delvis Heath of Warm Springs was the winner with Loren Orbest of Oregon City second and Vernon Spino third. In the half mile race it was again Delvis Heath's horse the winner with Loren Orbest and Delvis Heath third. Heath had two horses in the race. During the relay race it was Delvis Heath's team first, Vernon Spino team second, and Ricky Graybacl team third. During the rodeo the action was competitive in every event. One of the highlights was the wild horse race at the conclusion of eadh per formance. On the first night Jason Smith was the winner, Hobo Patt also placing. On the second night it was the Gunier team the winner with Hobo Patt second. "Re member now, all these statistics are unofficial." Western States Indian Rodeo Association standings With another rodeo season near ing its end and the Indian National Finals rapidly approaching the Western States Indian Rodeo As sociation members are hard at work trying to build up all the points they can, trying for a spot in the Nationals.
