Fui ava, an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, was born on September 1 1, 1987 at Mt. View Hospital in Madras, Oregon. Surviving are his parents Valerie and Farani (Frank) Fuiava, Sr., one brother Farani (Frank) Fui ava, Jr.; two sisters, Annie Dee and Natalie Rose Fuiva; grandparents Marilyn and Gale Lawrence, Sr.; Rosalia "Lux - Si Rosalia "Lux-Si-At" Howtopat, lifetime resident and enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs passed away April II, 1990 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon after a pro longed illness. Howtopat was born December 20, 1933 to Walter and Martha (Henning) Johnson in Simnasho, Oregon. She worked at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort as a waitress from 1967 until 1978 when she became a homemaker. Howtopat enjoyed beadwork, crocheting and all hand crafts. She was knowledgable in traditional food preparation including root digging and drying meat and fish. She was also known for her generousity and a member or the 19 10 Shaker Church in Warm Springs. Howtopat raised 16 children including foster children and rela tives. Survivors include her spouse. Johnny Howtopat. daughters Lil lian Walsey, Roberta Greene and Sonya Daniels; sons Luther Dan uka, Jake Johns. Johnnie Ken tura. Bruce Lee. Kevin. Corwin and Anthony Howtopat, all of Warm Springs. April 14 at 9:00 a.m. at the Simnasho Ceme tery with Matilda Mitchell, Nettie Showaway, Sylvia Wallulatum, Frank Jefferson and Wilford Aleck officating.
