In 1981, she trans ferred to the accounting department. She was made acting account supervisor and was pro moted to the position permanently in 1982. She Is presently working in the same fob. Harvey Yordy employees for service Enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes, Irene (Sandere) Welle began her career of 25 years as a summer trainee, after college she worked in steno pool, she transfered to the courts as chief judge which was followed by a transfer to Vital Statistics as the enrollment clerk. She was appointed chief judge a position she held until she retired in 1984. In 1985 she went back to work in housing as the assistant supervisor a job she presently holds. 10 Year Awards 1. Josie Wolfe The department of Training Ser vices would like to congratulate Keely Keene Linn, Julie Mitchell and Lorraine Suppah on their indivi dual achievements this past year. Keely graduated from the Uni versity of Hawaii with honors, car rying a grade point well over 3.7 Julie Mitchell completed her course in Day Care Administration and received a master's degree in edu cation. Lorraine graduated from Chemcketa Community College in June and received an associates degree in computer operations. She is now employed in Housing. Dorothy Coversup started out in our women's program last year. She worked as a secretary trainee for management for six months. Ameila Tewee An awards luncheon was held at the Agency Longhouse for 125 tri bal employees who received recog nition from the Confederated Tribes for their years of service. Each year the Tribes gives awards for three years, five years, ten years, 15 years, 20 years and 25 years of service. This year the luncheon was only for those employees who earned awards. In past years the luncheon ment. Good job Dorothy! We now have eight NCW faces in our apprenticeship program. They are Ron Clements, Leroy Bobb, Leffert Miller. LeonTenorio. Domi nic Davis, Maury Rhoan and Dolan Waheneka, Byron Berry also is back from last year. These individ uals will receive on-the-job train ing from Alvis Smith. Jr and Ben Anderson while building two tribal homes located in Sidwalter and the Dry Creek area. They will also be enrolled in Willamette Apprentice ship School of Carpentry in Port land. Willamette is a four-year pro gram leading to state certification in carpentry. Lee Johnson and Donny Win ishut are working hard at the tribal garage and vehicle pool. They are advancing well in their training and doing a great job. We cannot say enough "d if ?! if - "j r- . L and only person to receive a 20-year award from Kan-Nee- la, Louie "junior Leuaire has worked continuously in the maintenance department. He is presently working as the vil lage maintenance supervisor, a position he has held since 1980. He is an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes. 20 Year Awards 1. Pauline Allen 2. Joyce Erb 3. Jr., Darryl Scott, William Frank, Robert Stafford, Jeanette Meaius, Mariel Sanders, Joyce Mason, Geri Frank and Eugenia Tappo. things about Randy Demain and Cliff Stallings. Randy and Cliff are members of our apprenticeship com mittee and are currently training Waldon Winishut in plumbing and Tony Davis in Refrigeration. Randy and Cliff have gone out of their way to share their knowledge and skills with us. Their efforts are greatly appreciated, we need more tribal employees such as these two! We would like to thank Roberta Queahpama, Neda Wesley, Julie Mitchell and Charlene White for their effotts in giving our trainees a place to work. Everyone is invited to come in and talk about our training posi tions, college or any trade or skill that you would like to develop in order to gain employment.
