Howlak Kendall Enrolled member of the Confed erated Tribes of Warm Springs, Kendall Arthur, 36, died, in Por tland, Oregon February 23, 1987. Arthur was born March 24, 1 950 at Warm Springs to Clifford, Sr. and Norma (Johnson) Arthur. Both parents preceded him in death. He lived on the Umatilla Indian reser vation most of his life. He is survived by his step-mother Maryann Meanus of Warm Springs; a brother Clifford Ricky Arthur, Jr. of Warm Springs; four sisters Vivian Arthur of Lake Tahoe, California, Helen Rubio of Por Roberto Tapia Torrez Warm Springs resident, Roberto Tapia Torrez, 56, died at St. Cha rles Medical Center in Bend. Oregon on February 1 7, 1 987 following a lengthy illness. Torre was born June 7, 1930 in Mexico. On September 10, I960 he married Ruby Reed in Reno. Nev ada. The couple made their home in San Francisco. California and then moved to Portland. Oregon. Eight years ago the couple moved to Warm Springs. He had worked as a crane operator in heavy construction. The body was taken February 24 to the Mis- . sion Longhouse on the Umatilla Indian Reservation where overnight Washut services were held. Burial followed at the Homly Cemetery February 25. Carmen Parkins and Carol Harkshan; a nephew, Charles Harkshan;and numerous god sons, god daughters and numerous nie ces and nephews. Catholic Recitation of Rosary was held February 19 at the Mad ras Evergreen Chapel. The Mass of Christian burial was held February 20 at the Catholic St. Patrick's church in Madras. Oregon. Burial was at the Agency Cemetery on February 20.
