Inl981, Norma transferred to the accounting department as senior staff accountant and less than a year later she was prom oted to her present position as accounting supervisor. She is currently studying fo r her accounting degree. S pU yty Tymoo p hoto by Lvno Irene Wells began working fo r the tribe as a student trainee while attending college. Upon completion o f college, Irene began working fu ll time in steno pool, but was transferred to the chiefjudge position shortly thereafter. After working in the vital statistics department as a clerk and enrollment officer, she was appointed as chief judge, a position she still holds today. H e was the first manager ofKah-Nee-Ta village when it opened in 1961. In 1966, he left to go into business fo r himself but was asked to return to Kah-Nee-Ta as managerfor a short time in1975 until he was prom oted to enterprise manager in1976—as position he held until he was prom oted to his present as community services manager. Jeff has worked as an attendant at the tribal garage, a special reserve officer, a deputy police officer, custodian and assistant director at the Community Center. Jeff has worked in the law enforcement field since 1967 in different positions, working his way to the chief o f police, a position he has held since 1973. She began working in 1955 as an accounting clerk. In 1969, she bagan working as a clerk/typist in credit. Since then, she has been that department’s assistant loan examiner, loan examiner and office manager. Kathleen retired last September after 21 years o f service. H e worked fo r 11 vears as a maintenance man and was prom oted to village maintenance supervisor in 1980.
