Springs; 2nd, Sandra Frank, See pages 6 & 7 for photos Baker Middle School to visit Special education students from the Baker Middle School in Baker, Oregon are planning a trip to the Warm Springs reservation during the Root Feast. They will be staying in a tepee at Kah-Nee-Ta Village and visiting Simnasho School as well as attending Root Feast. The students and their teacher have expressed interest in learning about the Warm Springs reservation and the Indian culture of yesterday and today. I am a from Simnasho parents. Navajo Indian. I am in the 8th rade. I go to Baker Middle chool. Our class is planning to come- to Central Oregon in April. We will come see you when we get there. Rummage Sale February 27 House #49 Tao-Shuh Lester & Peggy Poitra Memorial Dinner A memorial dinner for Eddie “Mannkins” Cole, well known roper, will be held at the Agency Longhouse on March 6 at noon. The dinner will be given by Cole’s wife, Gloria Cole, Jazz Wewa and Frances Allen. Friends and family are invited to attend. I have a nice family and I was adopted into this family. Oh, by the way what does the word Simnasho mean? We would like to know what it means. How do you like your school? Is your school big or small? How far do you live from your school? How often do you have Indian dances? I live in a trailor court out in the country and I enjoy living out there. I’m always writing letters to people. I like to write letters often. I enjoy music. I like to play soccer, tennis, go swimming, ride a bike. What kinds of things do you like to do? I’m very busy between Monday & Friday. Write soon! My class is planning a trip to Kah- Nee-Ta some time this April. We heard that there was a school over there. and we thought you would like to hear from a different school.
