The little o f this poem is To the W hite M an but it can be to anybody. To the W hite M an I am the tracks, still following old buffalo trails, I am a war cry, which died last night and cannot be heard today. But, thoughl read about the past, and though I admire old stone arrowheads, and old broken teepee poles, my tracks have long' since stopped following the dead buffaloes trails, I walk these lonely cement creek beds, among these mighty canyon walls, and I am searching for my war cry once again I am a thing o f the past, I am an old stone arrowhead, I am an old broken teepee pole, John Selam tribal member, P.O. I am very interested in Indians and some weeks ago I wrote a leter to the American Embassy in Denmark. I asked fo r some in fo rm a tio n on Indians in America, and 1 received book-lists and other inform ation. Some days ago I also received a letter from the Bureau o f In d ia n A ffa irs in Washington. They gave me Missing Names The names o f two men, M arvin Ike and Ham ilton Greeley, were inadvertently left o ff the list o f veterans who served our country during wartime. They also served and should have been listed w ith the others in our last issue. Note of Thanks We would like to thank all o f those friends and relatives who attended our 21st birthdays dinner held on November 8. some good inform ation too, e.g. a map over the reservation in America. On the back o f that map I found your address. I hope that somebody w ill write a letter to me, so that we n o to n ly can be friends, but also discuss the Indians’ problems. It doesn’t m atter how old you are; I w ouldn’t mind w riting a letter to a 70 year old person, as long as he/ she has the same hope as I have: That the Indians some day w ill have better co n d ition s in th e ir reservations.
