S pi lyay Tymoo PAGE 10 May 29,1981 Spilyay Tymoo BMX draws young bicyclists Local softball team comes close to winning • Three teams from Warm Springs entered the soft ball tournament held at Chemawa during the May pow-wow days held on the 15, 16 and 17th, 1981. There were two men’s teams and one girls team who participated there. The Warm S p rin g s F o re st P ro d u c ts Industries Chiefs placed second behind the Colville, Washing ton team who were the champions. The W.S.F.P.I. Chiefs beat the Tahola Stars in the first game 14-3, then lost their second game 12-3 to Pendelton, in the third game they beat Chemawa 8-5. In the fourth game they beat Tahola 6-5. In the fifth game they beat N isqually 6-4. It was a long way back, but our players toughteiied up on defense and got the hits when we needed them said team manager Tony Suppah. All the players who played were a contributing factor towards the championship, only to lose out ^on one error to Pendleton 7-6, Suppah added.
