Italy, in 1954 and 1055, remaining a half-year after his service was over. He learned then the need for finding useful occupations for ref ugees and integrating them Into society. The resolution calls for steps to reverse the trend of the board's decisions so they will carry out "the intent" of the Labor-Management Relations Act. Officers elected by the 400 dele gates, representing 72,000 workers in nine western states, were: John Gamblin, Eugene, 6re.. president: Joe Hazard, San Fran cisco, vice president; Earl Hart ley, Seattle, executive secretary; James Gonzales, Montell. Calif- conductor, and John Moore, Ta coma, Wash., warden. The convention also adonted resolutions for holiday pay , and improvea vacations. As Ihe director said. 6 00 p.m. LEGALS Siuslaw Jetty Cash Released WASHINGTON Ui - An alloca tion of $200,000 was announced Thursday by Army Engineers lo repair jetties at Siuslaw Harbor on Ihe Oregon coast. According to Rep. Porter (D- Ore), the money will come; from deferred maintenance funds. Porter said he was informed that engineers will call within two months for bids to begin work on the north jetty. That project eventually will cost about $500,000. Additional funds are sought in the current budget before Congress.
