Volume for the day was esti mated at around 1.70(1.000 shares compared with I .wm.ooo on Friday, Ferguson Dies Here Saturday The Rev. A. G. Jamicson and the Rev. Carl Wackerbarth will officiate at services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for Charles A. Fergu son in the Evangelical United Brethren church with burial in Belcrcst Memorial park. Ferguson, 2593 Wallace road, died Saturday of a stroke in a local nursing home. He was 59. lie had been ill since 1946. A resident of Salem for the past 10 years, he had previously oper ated a farm on Grand island. He was a member of the First Evangelical-United Brethren church in Salem. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Mildred R. Ferguson, Salem; twin daughters Carol and Carolyn, students .at Salem Academy, daughters Mrs. Muriel Richardson, Hoseburg.and Mrs. Nellie Mon dell, Beaverton; brother Alfred Ferguson, Falls City; sister Mrs. Lottie Bird, Dallas. Light weight butchers lost the most, 190 to 230 pound offerings going mainly at $17.75 to $18.25. Butchers scaling 230 to 270 pounds went at $17.50 lo $18.00 and 280 to 330 pounds at $17.00 to $17.50. Sows sold withinin a $1575 to $16.75 range. Steers and heifers sold uneven ly 25 cents to $1.00 higher. A few prime to high prime steers reached $25.50 to $26.00. March 15.82. Oscar Zellcr Dies; Age 62 Services and interment for Os car Zcller, 62, will be, held this week in Midway City, Calif. Zellcr died Thursday at his home in Midway, according to word re ceived by his brother, N. W. Zcl ler, Salem. Oscar Zellcr lived in Salem from 1912 to 1915. He was born in Burlington, Iowa, and lived in Yakima, Wash., with his family until the move was made to Salem. , Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Oscar Zcller. Midway City; brother N. W. Zellcr, Salem and sister Tillie Irwin, San Luis Obis po, Calif. Local Resident Dies at Home A prolonged illness was climaxed Sunday by the death of Mrs. Bessie M. Rodgcrs, 688 S. Lancas ter Dr. She was 76. Ill since September, Mrs. Rodg crs was born in West Alexander, Pa., and was married there to Ed win G. Rodgers in 1902. The cou ple came to Salem in 1927.
