Ihc department of Oregon board will convene in Salem, with a lunch eon at the Marion hotel at 12 o'clock, followed by the board meeting at 1 p.m. Meetings of the budget and legislative committees of the de partment will precede the luncheon. Mrs. Jack Decker of Portland, president of the department of Oregon, will preside and she lias announced that plans will be discussed for the convention in Albany in April Three Links club has scheduled a meeting for Friday, February 8, at the IOOF temple, at 2 p.m. a A formal meeting and inspection are on the calendar for the meeting of bethel 35, Job's Daughters, Monday evening at the Scottish Rite temple. The meeting which starts at 2 o'clock will have as guest speaker, Mrs. Alton T. Brannon, princi pal of the Chemawa Indian school. She will be intro duced by Mrs. Mem Pearee. Students of the Chemawa school will present the musical program including some Indian songs in their selections. Mrs. Floyd White is in charge of this portion of the program. Mrs. John S. Tyler. Jr., president of the club, is calling attention of ciub members to the program on KPTV on the first Wednesday of each month, sponsored by the National Federation of Women's clubs. Mrs. R. I. C. Relatives and friends of Mrs. Jones arc Invited through the press to drop in during the afternoon. Mrs. Clara Jones: born February 13. I860, was the former Mrs. Clara Hicks, one of tour children. The family moved to Gervais from Wisconsin area when she was a young girl. She is the widow of Scott Jones, son of a Gervais pioneer family, and now resides with her son. Gordon Jones. Sixty-six years aso Mrs. Jones and several n'her ladies gave the Missionary society its lirst permanent heiinnincs at the Grais church and Ihe society later honored i'.s charter member by calling the organisation the Clara Jones Missionary society. Dishes, elaborate dresses of early days, pictures of family members of pioneer times and many objects of interest were displayed by members. Mrs. A. It. Tartar provided an early lemon squeezer made of woollen paddles with a tew large holes in each paddle that was used 100 years n2o as well as an equally old silver christenirg urn. Mrs. Tyler Munger exhibited her mother's wedding dress, a line lawn handmade Irock. The Irioged lacy shawls of earlier years were other items that attracted inlrrest. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. Alma E. Shipley, Mrs Charles Blundell and Mrs. P. E. Hollownv. The next meeting on March 1 will be at the homo of Mrs. John Barker.
