Dempewolf who is leaving Salem. On the eve of her departure for Eugene Mrs. Dempewolf was hon- i ored at an improptu party follow-1 ing the club's weekly game at Columbus hall last week. - i C. J. Meusey emerged as win-' nec of the annual "turkey tourna ment" when he and Mrs. Roger Archer led the north-south play ers. Other point-winners in that 1 position were Mrs. W. G. Rogers I and Mrs. Myrtle Watson, Mrs. A. O. Mueller and Tom Kay, Mrs. K. Baird and Mrs. E. A. Guenthner. Mrs. Cramer and Mrs. Henry Kropp headed the east-west pairs, followed by Mrs. E. W. Hughes and Mrs. Ed Payseno, Mrs. Hazel Johnson and Miss Glady Zell. Mrs. C. J. Meusey and Henry Kropp. Entry Displayed Mrs. W. B. Taylor of Salem was one of the 62 women from 37 states whose entry in the finals of the National Cotton Bag Sewing con test was on display in Chicago this past week. Mrs. Taylor previously had won first place at the Oregon State Fair. The contest is spon sored by the National Cotton coun cil, the Textile Bag Manufactur ers association and the Pfaff sew ing machines. ANNUAL breakfast for members of past presidents club. Mrs. Glen Holman, president of unit No. 9. was a special guest, and was presented a corsage.
