Salem Businesses Entered by Thieves Burglars broke into two neigh boring businesses early Monday morning but apparently got only about $15 for their efforts. Entered were the Cherry City Milling company and Wieder's Sa lem Laundry n the 200 block o! South High street. The safes in both places were at tacked, city police said, but entry was gained only to the milling company safe. The $15 was missing from there in the form of $10 in change and $5 in bills. Only the innev door of the safe was locked, police indicated, and the lock to that was punched out by the thieves. Entry to the building was through a window facing a neigh boring parking lot. ' The knob and dial were knocked alt the laundry company safe and a hole punched through behind the dial bat the punch stuck in the door at that time and the burglars apparently couldn t get it out. of ficers said. Nothing was reported missing from the laundry, either in money or clothes, police said. Method of entry into the building was undetermined.
