SECTION I Pact 7 - Easter Day Wedding At Church JORDAN The Methodist church in Independence was the ccne of wedding Sunday after noon, when Miu Joyce Har greaves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Hargreavei of Mon mouth, was married to Robert Walls of Newport, at an impres sive double ring ceremony per formed at 4 o'clock, the Rev. Walter Nybcrg officiating. Large bouquets of white stock and spirea in tall white baskets decorated the church altar. The brunette bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding dress of white satin bodice with short bolero jacket, and floor-length gathered nylon net over satin bouffant skirt. On a white Bible she carried a white orchid with tiny orchids tied in the white satin streamers. The full-length veil cascaded from a rhinestone and pearl-edged Juliet cap of white satin. Mrs. Stanley L. Starr of Port land, sister of the bride, was ma tron of honor, wearing a pink taffeta dress. She carried a bou quet of pink perfection camel lias and white hyacinths. The three bridesmaids were Miss Helen Walls of Newport, sister of the bridegroom, "who wore a yellow nylon net and taffeta frock and carried a bouquet of yellow daffodils and white hya cinths tied with yellow satin; Miss Helen Booth of Salem, who wore a mint green satin and nylon net dress and carried a green carnation and white hyacinth bouquet tied with green satin; and Miss Donna Stewart of Sa lem, who was attired in a powder blue dress of taffeta and nylon net, and carried a bouquet of blue Dutch irises and white hy acinths tied with blue satin. Each attendant wore a satin bolero jacket like the bride's. Pamela and Sheryl Starr of Portland, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. They wore pink taffeta floor-length frocks, and carried pink camellias and white hyacinth bouquets. Wally Walls of Newport, broth er of the bridegroom, was the best man. parrell Johnson, Klam ath Falls; Bob Beebe, Coos Bay, and Donald Boatman of Blidgett, were the ushers. Bob Beebe light ed the candles just before the service. Mrs. Don McLaughlin of Mon mouth sang during the cere mony. Stanley L. Starr of Port land, brother-in-law of the brine, was the organist For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Hargreaves chose a gray suit with navy blue accessories. The bridegroom's mother wore a dark plum suit and matching hat, with black accessories. Both mothers wore purple orchid corsages. Following the service, the re ception was in the church re ception rooms. Miss Sally Stud' nick of Jordan passed the guest book. Miss Diana Stewart of Sa lem was in charge of the gift table. The four-tiered white wed ding cake, topped with a bride and bridegroom, centered the table covered with a pink cloth. Tall white tapers in silver candle holders flanked each side of the cake. Fink camellias and white hvancinths decorated the table. For traveling, the bride wore a pink suit with navy blue acces sories and a wmte orcnia. The couple will make their home at Santa Ana, Calif., where the bridegroom is attending col lege. The bride is a graduate of Slavton union high school and at tended college in Berkeley and Monmouth. The bridegroom graduated from Scio high school and has served two years in the army sta tioned overseas. WOODBi:RN The monthly din ner meeting of the Woodtiurn Past Matrons club will be Wednesday, April 21, at the Masonic temple. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. with Mrs. Evelyn Mortis. Mrs. Maude Scott and Mrs. Minnie Richards as hostesses. A social ' meeting will follow. Wedding at Unionvale, UNIONVALE Yellow daffodils and snapdragons, Easter lilies and candlelight made the setting for a pretty wedding in the Unionvale Evangelical United Brethren church. Saturday evening, April 17, when Miss Phyllis Finnicum. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Finnicum of the Webfoot district, was married to Charles L. Load- berg. son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Londberg, Salem. The Rev. Clyde Dollar, pastor, officiated at the t o'clock double ring ceremony in the presence of !) relatives and friends. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding dress oi white lace and tulle. The fin gertip length veil was held by a crown. The bride's flowers were yellow and white rosebuds in cas cade bouquet with white satin streamers on a white Bible. Miss Donna Finnicum of Mc Minnville was her sister's maid of honor. She wore a lavender bro cade organdy frock. Mrs. Robert Shelburne, sister of the bride. Mc Minnville, and Mrs. Bryan Lond berg of Salem, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. They wore lime green dresses and carried yellow carnation nosegays with streamers. Bryan Londberg of Salem was best man for his brother. Ushers were Ollie Boline and Freeman Finnicum and they were also candlelighters and grooms men. Mrs. Zane May was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Clarence King and Mrs. Earl McLoiium were in charge of gilts. Following the ceremony a re ception was given by the bride's parents at the Unionvale church gymnasium. Mrs. Marion Boulden of union vale and Miss Doris Braat of Portland cut the cake. Both are aunts of the bride. Mrs. Dale Fow ler of Grand Island was at the coffee urn; Mrs. Jones Prater of McMinnville at the punch bowl. Both also are aunts of the bride. Assisting with serving were Mrs. J. R. Bell, Mrs. Clarence S. Craw ley, Mrs. Clyde Dollar. Mrs. Ersel Gubser. Mrs. Louis Magee, Mrs. Clark Noble and Mrs. Raleigh Worthington. Mrs. Finnicum wore a black and white two piece dress with red accessories for her daughter's wed ding. ' The bridegroom's mother wore a blue and white two piece dress with blue accessories. Both wore rosebud corsages. For going away the bride wore a beige suit and cocoa and beige accessories. Tea for Mothers Highland School Mothers club's annual teachers tea was Tuesday at the school auditorium. "Spring time in Paris" wu the theme, and was carried out through flower arrangements, cabaret tables, decorations and French menus and artists painting in an improvised park with a French nursemaid and park guard. For the program, Karen Klein played a French accordion, Martha Nichols presented a pan tomime number. Mrs. Wilber Martin sang three numbers, ac companied by Mrs. Richard Bell. Misses Betty Futrell and Janet Curry danced the Charleston. Helen Merchant played the ac cordion. Mrs. 1. G. Taylor was general chairman and Mrs. Louisa Dun can was la charge of the kitchen. Mrs. Elmer Ped was in charge of the program, assisted by Mrs. Norman Jones. The neat meeting will be in stallation of officers for IBM and 1955. 8ILVERTON Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Drake were Easter Sunday guests at the Lebanon home of the Ralph Molters. The Motters for merly lived in SUverton where the two families were friends and neighbors.
