Aldrich Jumps Just in Time Eugene Page Aldrich, 535 North Winter street, leaped to safety seconds before a passen ger train roared down on him and demolished his car early Thursday at a grade crossing between Halsey and Shedd in Linn county. Aldrich told State Patrolman Howard Ivy that a rear wheel of his car became imbedded in soft gravel between the rails of the Southern Pacific tracks and the car stalled.
