W').)twi , Men's Accessories loionui lor spring Stripes, plaids and checks are key notes for accessories In the man's wardrobe for the spring and fall of 1940. For the first time In a number of years, most of the designs to be seen in ties, shirts, socks and other ac cessories embody the Ideas of Am erican designers. They have been made to suit American men and the colors, patterns and fabrics should please young and old in all parts of this country. Wool Ties for Summer In the necktie field for 1940 there are two new notes. One is the return of the narrow crocheted or knit tie which can be purchased in either wool or wool and silk mixtures. These come in solid colors and In stripes, and promise to be a favor ite everywhere. The second new note is the In creasing popularity of the wool four-in-hand. While many of these in the past have been Imported from Ireland and Scotland, they are now being made in quantity by some of the largest mills in America. Their colors are soft and mellow, running to grays, blues, shades of brown and deeper shades of red. Many of these wool ties come in 'plaids. Some are In soft heather mixtures and others in paisley and other small designs. They do not wrinkle in packing and the fact that they do not absorb perspiration is greatly in their favor. Paris, (VP French soldiers at the front will be treated to the French can-can, the dance that thrilled their fathers at the end of the last century. A Paris night club announ ced that ft is (lending its troupe of can-can girls to dance for the troops. Fashion Flash!
