Ann Judson Circle - Has Spring Tea Saturday afternoon the Ann Jud son Mission circle of the First Bap tist church sponsored a Spring tea in compliment to the senior women and friends of the church. Approx imately 60 women of Salem and Eugene were in attendance. Mrs. Roy Cates, Mrs. Olen New- land, Mr. Clyde Crawford, Mr. i Homer Blum, Mr. J. G. Nash and t Mrs. WUson- Wilt -comprised the hostess group while Mr. Irving A. Fox, Mr. Albert Ramseyer, Mrs. Stanley Morris and Mr Marion Curry poured tea. The Mtsse Ellen Morley and Ma bel Elizabeth Fox presented each guest a tiny bouquet. The lace covered table was dec orated with tulip and yellow tapers and the room was Spring-like in wild currant, Oregon grape, apple blossom, spirea and flowering al mond. Campus "Y" Groups Hold Annual Election 1 Willamette University Campus The Willamette university campus "Y" organization chose their lead ers for the coming year at their annual elections held Wednesday. Miss Dorothy Cutler, Portland, waa chosen aa president of the Y.W C.A. for the coming year. Other of ficer elected were: Vice-president, Miss Jessie Mae Ruhndorf, Port land; and treasurer, Miss Barbara HoUingworth, Portland. Miss Row- na Upjohn of Salem and Miss Es ther Mae Devore, Salem tied for the office of secretary. A re-vote will be held next week for the president of the YM.CA, with Ralph May and BUI Thomas the candidates and W infield Achor and Al Ferrin candidates in the re- vote for treasurer. Officers elected were: Vice-president, William Laughlin; secretary, John Laughlin. Mrs. Craven, who is a member of the Salem Junior Woman's club, Is serving as chairman of the division of correction for the state federa tion during the present three-year term. The theme of the junior council program la the supreme role of wo man as oonserver of family, ei ther through marriage and chil dren or through the abstract family humanity. The keynote of their pro gram Is "sincerity." - Mrs, Craven will attend the coun cil aa a delegate-at-large for the Oregon junior clubs. She will be the only Junior member In the group of five appointed by the state presi dent, Mrs. Harold D. Peterson. Miss Doreen Dobson-Smith, chair man of publicity for Junior clubs of Oregon, ha assembled a unique scrapbook for exhibition at the council meeting. Polk Clubs Hear Dr. Baxter Speak An ail-day meeting of the Fed erated Women's clubs of Polk county was held Wednesday, April 18. at the city hall In West Salem. with 31 clubs represented, the total attendance being ISO, Hostess clubs for the affair were Zena Missionary society, Lincoln Goodwill club, Sweet Briar club, Brush College Helpers, Book and Thimble club. Laurel Social Hour club and the West Salem Woman's club. Huge bouquets of seasonal flow ers, including lilacs, tulips, carna tions and wild orchids, were used about the conference room. The business sessions were presided over by Mrs. C. L. Gregg of Batistes, who Is president of the federation. An interesting program was pre sented during the afternoon with Mrs. Harry Dempsey of Rickreall serving aa chairman. Dr. Bruce R.
