Saturday afternoon the Ann Jud
son Mission circle of the First Bap
tist church sponsored a Spring tea
in compliment to the senior women
and friends of the church. Approx
imately 60 women of Salem and
Eugene were in attendance.

ers for the coming year at their
annual elections held Wednesday.
Miss Dorothy Cutler, Portland,
waa chosen aa president of the Y.W
C.A. for the coming year. Other of
ficer elected were: Vice-president,
Miss Jessie Mae Ruhndorf, Port
land; and treasurer, Miss Barbara
HoUingworth, Portland. Miss Row-

the office of secretary.

will be a guest speaker on the junior
program on opening day.
The theme of the junior council
program la the supreme role of wo
man as oonserver of family, ei
ther through marriage and chil
dren or through the abstract family
humanity. The keynote of their pro
gram Is "sincerity." -
Mrs, Craven will attend the coun
cil aa a delegate-at-large for the
Oregon junior clubs. She will be the
only Junior member In the group of
five appointed by the state presi
dent, Mrs. Harold D. Peterson.
Miss Doreen Dobson-Smith, chair
man of publicity for Junior clubs of
Oregon, ha assembled a unique
scrapbook for exhibition at the
council meeting. Each Junior club
has filled one page with clippings
and other material representative
of its own activities. The cover of the
book la of Oregon myrtle wod, with
a front cut of the beaver.
Silverton will have the first page
in the book because of the fact It
was the first junior club organised
in Oregon.

18. at the city hall In West Salem.

Goodwill club, Sweet Briar club,
Brush College Helpers, Book and
Thimble club. Laurel Social Hour
club and the West Salem Woman's

Huge bouquets of seasonal flow
ers, including lilacs, tulips, carna
tions and wild orchids, were used
about the conference room. The
business sessions were presided over
by Mrs. C. L. Gregg of Batistes,
who Is president of the federation.
An interesting program was pre
sented during the afternoon with

serving aa chairman. Dr. Bruce R.
Baxter of Willamette university
spoke on the life ot Alice Freeman
