April 21 (U.B For mation of a 10th province In the dominion comprising the Peace riv er district of Alberta, the northern part of British Columbia and the Yukon Territory appeared po&slble today. A brief compiled by the Peace River Chamber of Commerce re questing reallocation of provincial boundaries which will be forward ed to the federal cabinet and also the Rowell commission on dominion provincial relations elicited the UV formation here that for some months a revision of boundaries In the north wes. territories has been under consideration by the gov-4 emment. The Peace River suggestion is an alternative to a proposal made by Premier T. D. Pattulo. of British Columbia that the Yukon Territory and part of the northwest territor ies should be apportioned to Brlt- lsh Columbia. 2000 Executed In Mongol Purge Moscow. April SI U.R A purge rivalling that In Russia was carried out recently In Outer Mongolia. Soviet protectorate, to crush an al legedly Japanese Inspired plot to overthrow the government, accord ing to belated advices received to day. The newspaper Bezbozhnlk quot ed the Outer Mongolia government organ "Peoples Right" that large stores of arms, ammunition and light cannon had been seized. It said the first evidence of the plot was uncovered at a trial in January 1937. Since then a purge has been going Ion. the newspaper said. The Outer Mongolia government organ charged that the plot was headed by Buddhist priests. No Information was available as to the number executed but It was Indicated that the purge would rival that In the Soviet union proper in which some 3,000 were executed. Prepare for Priming, Hockley Suggests Portland, April 31 P C. C. Hock lev, PWA administrator for Oregon, Washington and Idaho, yesterday requested public officials to pre pare for possible resumption of al lotments under the president's Dump-pruning expenditures. Hockley, who warned that funds might not be mad available, ask ed that projects be put in "proper shape" for immediate work. He asked particularly that project ap plications reviewed before Novem. ber 1, 1937, but for which funds i were not allotted, be renewed, and ' possible new projects be surveyed. x "Some of these projects may have been constructed or partly constructed," he said, "and our de sire now is to have applicants and ourselves ready to act when and If congress makes mora money avail able." Religious Relic Preservation Is Assured Public Aurora The Most Rev. Edward D. Howard, Catholic archbishop of Portland in Oregon, announces re ceipt from Miss Winifred G. My rick, great granddaughter of Dr. John McLoughlin, "Father of the Oregon Country," a "genuine relic of the true cross of Jesus Christ." The relic was once the property of Dr. McLoughlin. Miss Myrick has turned over the relic to be the property of the arch bishop and his successors In of fice and to be held by them for veneration and exposition at the parish church of St. John the Bap tist, Oregon City, beneath which the bodies of Dr. and Mrs. McLough lin are buried. Dr. McLoughlin, chief factor of the Hudson's Bay company In the Oregon country, was baptized a Ca tholic at La Riviere du Loup, Cana da, but reared by a maternal grand father in the Established Church of England. The history of Oregon between 1818 and 1848 (the period of "joint occupancy") Is largely the story of his Hie. November IB, 1842. Dr. McLoughlin returned to the Catholic church, making his pro fession of faith at the hands of Father Francois Norbert Blanche, future archbishop of Oregon City. In the year 1847 Pope Gregory XVI made Dr. McLoughlin a knight of the Order of St. Oeorge. It Is thought that upon Archbishop Blanche t's return to Oregon from Rome In August, 1847, he gave Dr. McLoughlin the relic of the true cross, which Miss Myrick has now turned over to the archdiocese. Mr. Roosevelt's reaction to the alitlon government idea. Dr. Town' send told newspapermen as he left the White House, was that he thought it "quite Impracticable." The 71-year old California doctor said he called primarily to thank the president for pardoning him from a 30-day Jail sentence and $100 fine imposed for contempt of a house committee which Investigated his pension plan two years ago.
