The sports motif will be empha sized in the decorations with bright ly colored streamers, basketballs and emblems used about the rooms, Combined with striking arrange ments of spring flowers and softly glowing lights. Patrons and patronesses for the affair will Include Mr. and Mrs. C. B. McCulloush, Mr. and Mrs. Prank Bp?ars and Mr. and Mrs, Curtis B. Cross. Hosts will be Frosty King, Aulden Reeder, Perry Andrews, Joe Darby, Gordon Whittington, Leslie Whittington, Fred Hagcman, Henry Hendrick.son, Jack Price, Bob Good fellow, George Beechler, Kenneth Allen, Crcighton Jones, Herbert Jones, Reynolds Allen, Pete Hage mnn, Charles Hngeman, Charles West, Jim Bush, Leon Perry, Frank Spears, Rollin Repine and Edwin Cross Russell Reeknian Party Host Russell Bookman was host nt a St. Patrick's party Friday night. Games furnished the diversion of the evening and were followed by refreshments and favors carrying out the St. Patrick's day Idea. Writers' Section Knterta inert Tuesday The Writers Section of the Sa lem Arts league met Tuesday eve ning at the home of Mrs. Hay Yo cum. The early evening hours were spent In reading creative stories and verse. At the supper hour Mrs. Yocum was assisted by her daugh ter. Miss Rachel. Present were Dr. and Mrs. F. G. Franklin, Mrs. Ora F. Mclntyre, Dr. Mary Rowlnnd, Mrs. Blanche Jones, Mrs. J. C. Nelson, Mrs. C. A. Lytic, Mrs. Sarah Hunt Sleeves, Mrs. Jessie Singleton, Perry Prcs cott Riegelman and the hostess. , Additional guests were Mrs. F. A. II "rd and Mrs, Martha Glenn. Dr. Mary Rowland will entertain the group next month in her home on Rivcrview road. The Maccabees will entertain at a card party this week instead of the regular business meeting. The affair will be h Id in the Knights of Pythias hall and all friends are invited. The benefit bridge luncheon plan ned for Fritl-iy, March 23, by the Women's Alliance of the Unitarian c';'i h has been postponed until April 20. The Ladles' Aid of the Women's Relief Corps will hold an all day meeting Thursday at the fair grounds. A covered dish luncheon will be served at noon. The executive board of the Busi ness and Professional Women's club will meet Tuesday evening, March 27, at 5:30 o'clock in the Y. M. C. A. This session will precede the regu lar pot Kick dinner. Miss Corbett To Wed Next Friday Portland friends of Miss Gretchen Corbett, who is now In Boston, have received announcements that her marriage to Dr. John Poulsen Trom mald will be solemnized quietly next Friday in the east. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott R. Corbett, who have been visiting in California, left Monday to be present at their daughter's wedding. Miss Leslie Corbett, who is a student at Smith, will be her sister's only attendant. Miss Gretchen is the second of the Corbett sisters to be married within three months. The marriage of Caroline Corbett and Ivisou Macadam of London was an event of New Year's day In Portland. Miss Corbett attended Miss Hall's school in Pittsfield, and after a year in Europe returned to Portland where she has been working for the past two years with the public wel fare bureau. She is a member of the Junior league. Dr. Trommald, who Is the son of Mrs. Paul C. King and Mr. King, is a graduate of Groton, Yale and the Harvard medical school and Is at present an interne at the Boston city hospital. The couple will reside in Boston. Easterner Honored Monday Evening Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Paulson were hosts Monday evening compliment ing Frank J. Clayton, regional agent for the Federal Rehabiliation department of Washington, D. C. Daffodils combined with narcissi were effectively used about the rooms where several tables of bridge wero in play. Supper was served at a late hour by Mrs. Paulson. Honors for high score at bridge were given to Mrs. James Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Howard and O. D. Ad ams. Bidden to greet Mr. Clayton were Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Howard, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. James Burgess, Mr, and Mrs. Earl Cooley, Mr. and Mrs. Roben J. Maaske and Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Joansson. Prominent Folk Sail Today Mrs. George A. White and her two daughters, Mrs. George Elmer Era- Igh, Jr., of Burns and Miss Hen- riette, sailed from Portland today on the States Liner General Persh ing for Japan, China and the Philippines. Mrs. White and her daughters will remain with the General Pershing to Manila and will return as far as Japan, staying three weeks there and returning home on the Liner , General Sherman. They will reach Portland June 7. j Miss Margaret Engcl of Portland was a recent guest in the capital city. Mrs. Small Compliments Bridge Club Mrs. Brazier Small presided at a charming affair Tuesday afternoon when she Invited a group of prom inent matrons to her home for luncheon and several hours of con tract. Pastel-hued spring flowers form ed the centerpiece on the luncheon table and the guest rooms were dec orated with large bouquets of daf fodils and narcissi. High score hon ors for bridge went to Mrs. J. J. Elliott and Mrs. Harry Crain. Guests were-Mrs. Frank Moore, Mrs. Walter J. Page, both of Port land, Mrs. J, J. Elliott, Mrs. H. G.
